When you want to hire a short film videographer, you should already have an idea in mind of a film you want to make that lasts an hour or less. That is what a short film done by a videographer usually is—a one-hour picture on a particular topic and/or incorporating a particular genre associated with the short film industry. The Biopic
The biopic is a biography about someone in particular who you think would make a really good movie subject. It can also be about a particular group of people who went through something together, which could be horrible or tragic, but can also be inspiring and joyful. There is no animation or alternative forms of the theme or story line here, just the video retelling of something both interesting and worth telling before it is forgotten.
The Expose
An expose (pronounced x-poz-ay) is a film about events that should be revealed to the public. As the film's producer, you feel that this particular event or events warrants warning the public about, or that the public has a right to know what is going on with the subject of your film. You will have to do a lot of research, dig up proof of the facts and incidents on which you are trying to shed light via your film, and try to find witnesses that can attest to the incidents/events mentioned in your film. An expose is one of the most difficult of all short films to do because you have to keep it short while still doing everything you can to expose and tell the story.
The Inspirational Story
An inspirational story is always true. It is also important to incorporate the actual people that created the inspirational story. If you can convince them to be in the film, that is better still. It has to be a story that gets people right at the heartstrings, while still telling a really upsetting-turned-amazing story. There are not too many of these stories out there, and most of them are almost always scooped up by major news broadcasting stations, but if you can find an inspiring story that has not been told yet, shoot it.
