About Me

using visual arts to change the feel of your room

Is there a room in your home that just feels unwelcoming? What colors have you used in that room? Do you have it decorated in a manner that will create a welcoming and joyful feel? I had a room in my home that just made me feel depressed when I spent any time in it. I talked with an interior designer friend of mine about the problem and she told me to look for visual arts to place around the room. She told me that I had to spend some time looking at different artwork until I found the pieces that created a positive and powerful feeling. Visit my website to find out how I changed the feel of my room with a few visual art pieces.

5 Tips For Designing A New Custom Logo

by Shawn Moreno

Do you want to create a new logo for your business but don't know anything about graphic design? It will help to know the following tips to help you come up with a creative idea.

Keep The Logo Simple

It's important that you do not get too complicated with your logo, since it should be easy to recognize when people see it. A problem that people run into is using too many design elements, fonts, and colors where the logo looks too complicated.

Know The Use Cases

Think about where your logo is going to be used, and if its use case affects how you design it. For example, is it being made into a big sign, used in business cards, placed on the side of a vehicle, or on a website? The use case of a logo can impact the design, especially when it comes to making a big sign out of the logo.

It may even help to rough out a logo in black and white colors rather than using full color. This can help in situations where the logo is printed in black and white, and you want to make sure that the logo is still identifiable in simple colors.

Design A Vector Graphic Logo

In the design world, the two types of image files you can create are raster and vector graphics. Raster graphics cannot be scaled, and are often used in cases where there are images being used that have a defined resolution. However, vector graphics are made in a drawing program that uses coordinates to create all of the lines and colors. This allows you to easily blow up a graphic to a much bigger size when necessary and prevents your logo from being blurry.

Consider Your Business's Identity

A logo helps tell a story of what kind of business you have before people even know a thing about what you do. For example, a playful logo with a non-standard font can be great for any business that will attract kids and families. Meanwhile, a more straightforward serif font can attract business professionals.

Ask For Feedback

Once you have a few logos designed, you'll want to get some feedback from co-workers, friends, and family. It's important to be open to their criticism so that you can design a logo that is appealing to a broad audience of people. While you do not have to take everyone's feedback into consideration, it's important that you do not take the feedback too negatively.
